Little Dove Learning Center (LDLC) provides quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. We will provide childcare services including opportunities and encouragement to explore on different levels for all the children. Every child has special and unique needs that LDLC can meet. Our belief is that children learn and grow best in a safe, healthy, loving, caring, nurturing, creative and clean environment. We are committed to providing that environment and in creating a strong bond with your child to ensure the best start of life in order to sustain a strong educational foundation. LDLC is a learning center that feels like home.
Our program emphasizes on supportive and positive interactions between adults and your child. We sing, read stories, talk, rock, play and bond with your baby. Trained staff will give utmost care for a smooth transition during feeding, diapering, naps and activity time. Children will explore with toys and materials that will help to develop their fine motor and gross motor skills and overall developmental areas. Daily reports of your child will be given to you at the end of the day.
Our programs are based on the first natural steps to learning, which is PLAY. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) states “Research shows that child guided, teacher-supported play benefits children in many ways. When children play, they engage in many important tasks, such as developing and practicing newly acquired skills, using language, taking turns, making friends, and regulating emotions and behavior according to the demands of the situation. This is why play needs to be a significant part of the young child’s day” (Copple & Bredekamp 2009, p.328). Our daily routines and activities are based on the High Scope Framework.
Toddlers are very active, curious and busy. Childern will be engaged in age approprivate activities, which develop their language and overall skills such as manipulative toys, games, painting, pasting, singing, dancing and indoor and outdoor games. Potty training and self-discipline guidance will be incorporated to help your chilren be independent. Daily reports of your child will be given to you at the end of the day.
As children get older they become more inquisitive and creative. Children will be doing hands-on activities, dramatic/pretend plays, building blocks, solving simple puzzles, exposed to pre-writing skills, alphabet, numbers, colors, identifying pictures, objects to learn and enjoy independence, self-reliance, self-direction and self-esteem.
Age of invention, problem solving, dreamers, and discoverers. Children learn best when they learn in their own way. Our daily lessons will help them make choices, discover, learn and develop in their own ways. Creative craft works, drawing, painting, coloring, writing, building blocks, story telling, solving puzzels, and organizing. Children will be introduced to age appropriate math, language and science lessons e.g. counting objects, practicing writing names and numbers, learning nature, plants, animals and birds, experiments on simple science projects.
